Day 1
Dehradun to Barkot
Arrival in Dehradun/Haridwar to Barkot (170 km, 6-7 hours)
- Morning: Arrive in Dehradun/Haridwar. You’ll be met by the tour guide/driver.
- Departure: Drive from Dehradun/Haridwar to Barkot, a small town and base for the Yamunotri trek.
- En route: You’ll pass through Mussoorie, Kempty Falls, and the Yamuna Bridge.
- Arrival: Reach Barkot in the evening.
- Overnight Stay: In a hotel or camp at Barkot.
Day 2
Barkot to Yamunotri
Barkot to Yamunotri (Drive 36 km, Trek 6 km)
- Morning: After breakfast, drive to Janki Chatti (base point for the Yamunotri trek).
- Trek: Trek 6 km to the Yamunotri Temple. You can hire a pony, palanquin, or use a hand-pulled cart.
- Pilgrimage at Yamunotri: Take a dip in the hot springs near the temple (Surya Kund), perform puja at Yamunotri Temple, and visit Divya Shila.
- Return: Trek back to Janki Chatti and drive back to Barkot.
- Overnight Stay: Barkot.
Day 3
Barkot to Uttarkashi
Barkot to Uttarkashi (85 km, 4-5 hours)
- Morning: After breakfast, drive to Janki Chatti (base point for the Yamunotri trek).
- Route: Barkot → Dharasu Bend → Gangnani → Uttarkashi
- Visit: Kashi Vishwanath Temple and the Shakti Temple.
- Evening: Explore Uttarkashi town or relax.
- Overnight Stay: In Uttarkashi.
Day 4
Uttarkashi to Gangotri
Uttarkashi to Gangotri (100 km, 4 hours)
- Morning: Drive to Gangotri, a spiritual and scenic journey along the Bhagirathi River.
